Our Vision
Indian Rocks Christian Schools adopts the historic Christian view of life as presented in the Bible. Since God created and sustains everything through His Son, Jesus Christ, the world and life are God-centered and should glorify Him. Man, being a sinner by nature and choice, cannot glorify or know God apart from being recreated in God’s image through committing his life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The total process of education, therefore, must seek restoration of the student to a position of true knowledge, righteousness and holiness in Christ by relating the whole person to God: Spiritually, mentally, socially and physically.
All truth is God’s truth and must be integrated into every area of school life. Our school functions as an extension of the home to assist parents in providing this education. From this philosophy stem certain educational objectives.
For the spiritual and moral growth of the students, our school seeks:
- To lead students to a personal, saving relationship with Christ as Lord and Savior
- To teach the essential doctrines of the Christian faith
- To develop a desire to know and to do the will of God
- To teach students consistent daily Christian living and service
- To develop a biblical sense of right and wrong
- To foster self-discipline in the student based on respect for and reverence toward God and all authority, and
- To help students develop a consistent Christian philosophy of life by integrating all subjects with the Bible.
For the personal and social development of the students, the school strives:
- To develop in students a balanced personality based on a proper understanding and acceptance of themselves and others as God made them
- To foster wholesome personal relationships through development of social skills based on the Christian concept of love
- To demonstrate a biblical view of life, work and occupational endeavors
- To develop the proper attitudes, understanding and skills needed to establish God-honoring homes, and
- To promote fitness, maintenance and skillful use of the body as the temple of God, and to impart the biblical attitude toward material things.
Academically, the school endeavors:
- To promote high academic standards, to help each student gain a comprehensive command of the fundamental processes used in communicating with others through speaking, listening, writing and reading
- To encourage the formation of good study habits
- To teach students how to use the scientific method in research and as a means of problem solving
- To develop creative and critical thinking skills utilizing biblical principles for evaluation
- To foster an appreciation of our Christian and American heritage of freedom and human dignity which leads to good citizenship
- To impart knowledge of the world and current events relative to God’s plan for men.
Working with the student’s family, the school desires:
- To cooperate closely with parents in every phase of their student’s development, and
- To aid families in making their homes God-centered.

About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God. Genesis 1:26,27; Psalm 24:1,2, 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2
About Mankind
We are all made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although mankind has tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates us from God. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a, 59:1,2; Romans 3:2
About Eternity
We all were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by our sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. The place of eternal separation from God is called Hell. Heaven is the place of eternal union and eternal life with God. Matthew 25:41; John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Revelation 21:27
About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is coequal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. Matthew 1:22,23; John1:1-5, 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3,4; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Colossians 1:15-18; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14,15
About Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sin by our good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith.
John 1:12; Romans 5:1, 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5
About Eternal Security
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in His salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and the keeping power of God that gives this security. John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. John 14:16,17, 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13, 5:1
About the Bible
The Bible is God’s word to all mankind. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian life and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. Psalm 12:6, 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5,6; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 1:13, 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21
