Meet our MS/HS Choir Director
The Vocal Music Department is under the direction of Mrs. Rhonda Farver, a veteran teacher at Indian Rocks since 1992. Her choirs have performed for such venues as Florida All State Chorus, Pinellas All County Chorus, Steamboat Festival (Nashville), Peach Festival (Atlanta), Music USA Festival at Universal Orlando, as well as invitations to perform annually in Orlando at Epcot’s Disney Candlelight Processional and Music USA Festival at Universal Studios.
Elementary Music
Every year at IRCS, in elementary music class, each grade starts with vocal care and vocal strengthening. Learning songs for our annual grandparents day program keeps us applying our focus on matching pitch and vocal stretches. Using our voice to praise our Father in Heaven brings us closer in our walk with God. Starting in January each grade works on listening to and playing instruments. The younger grades read beginner rhythms and play non-pitch instruments while the older grades learn the recorder, the ukulele, chimes, bells and tubano drums. Some instruments develop individual abilities while others use a team effort to learn and perform a song together. Making music is what brings us together and helps express our God-given emotions, creativity and talents.
