Indian Rocks Christian School Names Matthew Beasley as Head of Upper School

Largo, Florida — Indian Rocks Christian School (IRCS) today announced the appointment of Matthew Beasley as the school’s new Head of Upper School. Beasley brings more than two decades of experience in Christian education, having served in a variety of senior leadership roles marked by academic rigor, pastoral care, and a deep commitment to Christ-centered formation.

Beasley most recently served as Upper School Principal at The Brook Hill School in Bullard, Texas, where he oversaw all Upper School programs for both day and boarding students. In that role, he led faculty, student life, admissions interviews, and budget management while serving on the executive leadership team. Before Brook Hill, Beasley served as K–12 Curriculum Director at Lagrange Academy in Georgia, where he guided curriculum and professional development across all grade levels and supported the school community through the challenges of pandemic-era learning.

A significant portion of his leadership career was shaped during his nine years at Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) in Norcross, Georgia. There, he held multiple key roles, including Dean of Academics, Dean of Students, Department Chair, and teacher.

As High School Academic Dean, he led a 13-member Academic Leadership Team and more than 70 faculty members, spearheading professional development reforms that resulted in measurable academic growth, including an 87% AP pass rate in his final year overseeing more than 500 AP exams.

Beasley began his career at Alabama Christian Academy, where he taught Bible and English, sponsored student organizations, and invested deeply in the spiritual and academic formation of high school students.

His academic preparation includes an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Leadership from Gordon College, a Master of Arts in New Testament from Faulkner University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible, also from Faulkner University.

Throughout his career, Beasley has emphasized Christ-centered formation, excellence as faithfulness, high expectations paired with high support, and leadership through presence.

“My family and I are grateful for the opportunity to join Indian Rocks Christian School. I have been deeply encouraged by IRCS’s commitment to excellence, its partnership with families, and its dedication to developing young people who are equipped to make a meaningful impact for Christ in every sphere of life. It is a privilege to join this community and contribute to the continued growth of the Upper School,” Beasley said.

IRCS Head of School, Dr. Chris Hobbs, added, “Mr. Beasley’s arrival marks our next step forward in providing an outstanding Christian education at IRCS. Matthew’s depth of leadership experience in strong Christian school communities, combined with his commitment to pastoral care and academic excellence, makes him an exceptional fit as we strengthen our Upper School program.”

Matthew and his wife, April, a fellow Christian educator, are the parents of four sons. The Beasley family said they are eager to join the Indian Rocks Church and Christian School community and invest in the lives of students and families in the Tampa Bay area.
