Scholarship Programs
Indian Rocks Christian School accepts Florida-based scholarships provided by Step Up for Students (SUFS) and Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK). These funds are directly applied to reduce the cost of tuition and are available to nearly every student. Please refer to the details below and apply early.
1. Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC)/Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES)
Eligible: K5 – Grade 12
K-12 students regardless of household income, who are residents of Florida and eligible to enroll in a K-12 public school, can receive a scholarship worth an average of $8,000 to attend a private school that best meets their academic needs. Applications open February 1st.
2. Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities
(Formerly Gardiner or McKay)
Eligible: K3 – Grade 12
Children with unique abilities may have different needs when it comes to their education. IRCS does accept the FES-UA Scholarship. Due to the nature of this scholarship, please contact the Admissions Office at 727-596-4342 to determine if we are able to meet the needs of your student.
3. Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten
Eligible: K4
Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) education program is open to any child who lives in Florida and turns four years old on or before September 1st of the upcoming school year. VPK can be used in combination with Step Up for Students FES-UA.. Registration is available online at the Early Learning Coalition Pinellas website.
4. Betty Shields Minority Scholarship
Eligible: Rising 6th – 9th grade minority students
Betty Shields Minority Scholarship was established to provide up to two prospective 6th-9th grade minority students per year, the opportunity to attend IRCS. They must have a desire to attend a Christian School, a strong Christian character, and show leadership potential. The nomination process is open each year from December 1st until noon on the second Friday of January and is for the upcoming school year. Nominations made after that date and time will not be accepted. If you have any questions concerning this scholarship, please contact the Admissions Office at 727-596-4342.
5. Financial Aid
Eligible: 1st – 12th Grade
IRCS uses FACTS Management to assess the financial needs of all applicants. While every family is expected to contribute to the cost of tuition, IRCS awards financial aid based on FACTS recommendations and other factors to help families cover a portion of the financial gap for a short-term need. Financial Aid is awarded annually and can be combined with Step Up for Students.
